Portuguese orthography

Portuguese orthography is the way we write and spell words in the Portuguese language. It's like a big set of rules that tells us how to write correctly.

Just like when you learn to write your name in school, there are certain things you have to do to write it correctly. For example, you have to write your letters in the right order and make sure they're not backwards or upside down.

In Portuguese, there are also rules we have to follow when writing words. For example, we have to make sure we put accents on certain letters to show how they should be pronounced. We also have to use certain letters in certain situations, like using "ç" instead of "c" when we want to make a "ss" sound.

Sometimes the way we spell words can change, like when words have different forms for different tenses or when they're used in different parts of a sentence. But, we always have to make sure we follow these rules so that everyone can understand what we're writing.

So, think of Portuguese orthography like a set of rules that help us write correctly and make sure everyone can understand us.
