Portuguese-style bullfighting

Portuguese-style bullfighting is when a person called a "bullfighter" has to show their skills by facing a bull in a special arena. The bull is usually very big and strong, with horns that can hurt the bullfighter if they are not careful.

Unlike in traditional bullfighting from Spain, the main goal in Portuguese-style bullfighting is not to injure or kill the bull. Instead, the bullfighter tries to demonstrate their bravery and agility by performing various tricks and stunts.

One of these tricks is called "cavalo," where the bullfighter rides a horse and uses it to tease the bull into charging at them. The goal is to show how well the bullfighter can control the horse and avoid getting hit by the bull.

Another trick is called "bandarilhas," where the bullfighter uses long sticks with sharp points and tries to stick them into the bull's back. This is done to show how brave and skilled the bullfighter is at dodging the bull and getting close enough to stick the bandarilhas in the right place.

In the end, the goal of Portuguese-style bullfighting is to entertain the audience with a display of human bravery and skill against a powerful animal. Even though the bull is not killed, it is still considered a dangerous sport and requires a lot of training and practice to become a skilled bullfighter.
