ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Posit (number format)

Okay kiddo, let me explain posit to you!

Do you know what numbers are? Like 1, 2, 3, and so on? Those numbers are called integers. And we use them to do math and count things.

Now, sometimes we need to use numbers that aren't integers, like 1.5 or 0.2. Those are called decimal numbers or floating point numbers.

But what if we only want to use positive decimal numbers? That's where posit comes in! It's a number format that only uses positive decimal numbers.

So instead of having both positive and negative numbers like regular decimal numbers, posit only has positive numbers. This can make some calculations faster and more efficient. Yay for efficiency!
