Okay kiddo, let's talk about positive elements in an ordered group!
Imagine you have a bunch of toys that you can put in a line in a particular order. That's what we call an ordered group.
Now, some of your toys might be really good and happy toys, and some might be not-so-good and grumpy toys. We call the good toys "positive elements" and the grumpy ones "negative elements."
But how do we know what makes a toy positive or negative? Well, just like how we see things in real life, we can say that a toy is positive if it's bigger than the neutral toy (like a zero) that we've placed in the middle of our toy line. And any toy that's smaller than that neutral toy is considered negative.
So, in summary, a positive element in an ordered group is like a really great toy that's bigger and better than the middling toy that we've placed in the middle of our toy line. And that's how we can tell if a toy is positive or negative in our ordered group.
