ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Post-tetanic potentiation

Post-tetanic Potentiation (PTP) is when the strength of muscles gets stronger for a period of time after doing a lot of exercise. It's a bit like a muscle "memory". When you do a lot of exercise your muscles get tired, but then when you do the same exercise again soon after, it feels a bit easier and you're able to do more. This is because the muscles are staying stronger longer than usual. PTP helps us when we want to improve our physical skills like running or jumping faster.
