Potentiometry

Imagine that you have a magical ruler that can measure how "happy" or "sad" something is. This ruler is called a potentiometer.

The potentiometer works by using two wires that touch the thing you want to measure. One wire is connected to a positive charge and the other is connected to a negative charge.

When you touch the wires to something, the "happiness" or "sadness" of that thing creates a small electrical current that flows through the wires.

The potentiometer then measures how much electricity is flowing and tells you how "happy" or "sad" the thing is.

For example, if you touch the wires to a battery, the potentiometer will tell you how much electricity is left in the battery.

Potentiometry is a really cool way to measure things that are hard to see or touch, like electricity, chemicals, or even the pH levels in water.
