Potted shrimps are tiny, yummy shrimps that are cooked up with lots of butter, herbs and spices, and then put into little pots or jars to eat later!
First, the shrimps are carefully peeled and cleaned by grown-ups. This means taking off their hard outer shell so that they're soft and easy to eat. Then, they're cooked in a big pan with lots and lots of butter, which makes them even more delicious!
Next, the buttery shrimps are mixed with herbs and spices like nutmeg, lemon, and cayenne pepper, which give them a yummy flavor. Once everything is mixed together, the shrimps are carefully spooned into little pots or jars and left to cool down.
Finally, once the potted shrimps are cooled, they can be kept in the fridge until it's time to eat them! They're perfect for spreading on toast or crackers, or just eating straight out of the pot. Just be sure to ask an adult for help if you need to open the jar or pot - they can be tricky sometimes!
