Prader–Willi syndrome

Prader–Willi syndrome is a medical condition that affects some people from when they are born. It's caused by a problem with the person's genes, which are special instructions that tell their body how to grow and work.

When someone has Prader-Willi syndrome, their body doesn't do things the way it's meant to. They might have a hard time growing and gaining weight, which means they can be very small or very chubby. They might also have some unusual features, like almond-shaped eyes or a small head.

But the biggest problem with Prader-Willi syndrome is that it affects the person's appetite, which means they never feel full! So they always want to eat, even if they've already had enough food. This can be really dangerous and make them gain a lot of weight, which can cause other problems like diabetes, high blood pressure, and heart disease.

Because of these things, people with Prader-Willi syndrome need a lot of extra help to stay healthy. They might need to take medicine to help control their appetite and stay at a healthy weight. They might also need to work with doctors, nutritionists, and other medical professionals to make sure they're getting the right kind of food, exercise, and care. But with the right treatment and support, people with Prader-Willi syndrome can live happy and healthy lives.
