Pre-Columbian era

The Pre-Columbian era is the time before Christopher Columbus arrived in the Americas in 1492. This was a very long time ago - thousands of years! People lived in many places in the Americas during this time. There were many tribes and cultures that existed before Europeans began to travel to the Americas. Some groups lived by hunting and gathering, while others farmed and had more complex societies. They built homes and temples, and developed a written language. They also created artwork and made tools and weapons from natural materials like stone, wood, and bone.
