ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Prehistoric Asia

OK kiddo, let's start by talking about what "prehistoric" means. It means a time in the past when people didn't write down their history, so we don't have any written records to go off of.

Now, when we talk about prehistoric Asia, we're talking about a really long time ago - like before your great-great-great-great-great-great-grandparents were even born!

There were lots of different groups of people living in prehistoric Asia, but we don't know exactly who they were or what they called themselves. They didn't have countries or governments like we do now.

A lot of these people were hunter-gatherers, which means they didn't have farms or grow their own food. They found food by hunting animals and gathering plants. They would move around a lot to find new sources of food.

Other prehistoric people in Asia were farmers. They would settle down in one place and grow crops. This allowed them to have a more steady supply of food, but they had to work really hard to grow enough food to survive.

There were also some prehistoric people in Asia who were skilled at making things like pottery, weapons, and tools. They would trade these things with other groups of people.

One really important thing that happened in prehistoric Asia was the development of writing. People started to create symbols and characters that represented words and ideas. This allowed them to record their history, create literature, and share knowledge with each other.

So there you have it, kiddo - prehistoric Asia was a time long ago when people didn't have countries or governments, and they survived by hunting and gathering or farming. Some people were skilled at making things, and writing was just starting to be developed.
