Prehistoric Ireland

Well hello there lil buddy! So do you want to know about prehistoric Ireland? That's a really cool topic! Let me explain it to you in a way that you can understand.

So, Ireland is a country that is located in Europe, and it has been around for a really long time. But before there were people living in Ireland, there were these big animals called mammoths and giant deer that roamed around. They were really big and ate a lot of grass.

Then, about 9,000 years ago, people started to come to Ireland. They were known as the Mesolithic people, and they were hunters and gatherers. That means that they didn't farm like we do now, but instead they gathered berries and hunted animals like deer for food.

These people lived in small groups and they built temporary shelters like huts made out of wood and animal skins. They also made tools out of stone and bone to help them hunt and gather food.

Later, around 4,000 years ago, a new group of people came to Ireland. They were called the Neolithic people, and they started to farm the land. They cleared the forests and fields to plant crops like wheat, barley and oats, and they also raised animals like cows, pigs and sheep.

The Neolithic people built more permanent houses and communities. They also began to make pottery and use bronze tools. They also built big stone structures that we call megaliths. These structures include monuments like Stonehenge, and they are still standing today!

Even though we don't know everything about prehistoric Ireland, we know that it was home to some amazing people and animals. They lived in harmony with the land and were able to survive and thrive for thousands of years. It's pretty amazing to think about what happened in Ireland so long ago!
