Pressure swing adsorption

So first, the air or gas goes through a special material called an adsorbent. This material is really good at trapping certain things like carbon dioxide or moisture. This is good because those things can be bad for people or machines.

But after a while, the adsorbent gets full and needs to be cleaned. This is where the pressure swing part comes in.

Pressure is like pushing, like when you push a toy car or swing at the playground. So they change the pressure of the air or gas going through the adsorbent. This change in pressure helps push out the bad stuff that was trapped, and the adsorbent is clean again!
