ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Priestly tunic

So, in the olden days, when people would pray to God, priests would wear special clothes called tunics.

Now, the priestly tunic was a very special type of tunic. It was made out of really nice materials, like linen and wool. And it had a lot of different colors on it, like blue, purple, and scarlet.

One really important thing about the priestly tunic was that it had a golden plate on it. This golden plate had the words “Holy to the Lord” written on it. That meant that the tunic was made just for priests and was only to be worn when they were serving God.

The tunic was a sign of respect for God and showed that the priests were set apart from everyone else because they had a special job to do.

So, basically, a priestly tunic was a special and fancy piece of clothing that priests would wear when they were serving God.
