Private biometrics are special physical characteristics that people have that can be used to identify them. For example, your fingerprints are biometrics that are unique to you. Some other examples are your retina (a part of your eye), voice, and even your face. Biometrics can be used to make sure the right person is accessing something like your bank account or smartphone. Companies use biometrics likefingerprints to check that you are who you say you are before they give you access. Biometrics can also be used to make sure you can't access something that you're not supposed to. For example, if someone else tried to unlock your phone with their fingerprint, it wouldn't work because their biometrics would not match yours.
