ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Private university

Okay, so imagine you want to go to school because you want to learn things and be smart. A private university is a special place where you can go to learn all kinds of things, but it's different than a regular school that you might go to every day.

Private universities are like a special club that only certain people can join. You have to pay money to be part of this club, and the money you pay helps to keep the school running. Because you have to pay for it, private universities are usually more expensive than regular schools.

But because they cost more, private universities can provide more things for you to use when you're learning. They might have fancy buildings, nice classrooms, special teachers, and lots of books and other things that you can use to learn. There might be special programs or activities that you can participate in to make you even smarter.

When you go to a private university, you'll be with other students who also want to be smart and learn. You'll have teachers who are experts in their subjects and want to help you understand everything you need to know. And when you're done, you'll have a special certificate that shows that you've learned a lot and are now a really smart person!
