Proclamations of the First Presidency and the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles

Okay, so when you go to church, you might hear someone talk about the First Presidency and the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles. These are important groups of people in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (also known as the LDS or Mormon church).

The First Presidency is made up of three people: the President of the Church (who is considered a prophet, like in the old days of the Bible), and two counselors. They help the President run the church and make important decisions.

The Quorum of the Twelve Apostles is a group of twelve men who are also leaders in the church. They are like the President's helpers, and they travel all over the world to teach people about Jesus Christ and to help the church grow.

Sometimes, the First Presidency and the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles will make a special announcement called a "proclamation." This is when they say something they believe is very important for all church members to know and follow. For example, in 1995, they made a proclamation about families, saying that families are really important and should be treated with love and respect.

So, the Proclamations of the First Presidency and the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles are important statements that help guide the Mormon church and its members.
