ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Productive and unproductive labour

Productive and unproductive labour are ways of describing different kinds of work. Productive labour is work that produces something that can be sold and brought in money. Examples of productive labour include a farmer growing crops, a factory creating products, or a business selling services. Unproductive labour is work that doesn’t produce something that can be sold and doesn’t bring in any money. Examples of unproductive labour include cleaning your room, walking your dog, or playing a game.
