Propeller (aeronautics)

A propeller is like a big fan attached to an airplane that helps it move forward and stay in the air. Imagine blowing on a pinwheel – it spins fast and moves forward. A propeller works in a similar way, but instead of your breath, it is powered by a powerful engine. The propeller has curved blades that spin around and push the air behind it. This creates a force that moves the airplane forward. The faster the propeller spins, the more air it pushes and the faster the plane goes. The angle of the propeller blades can also be adjusted to help the plane fly at different speeds or altitudes. Without a propeller, an airplane would have a hard time staying in the air and moving forward, just like a pinwheel wouldn't spin if you didn't blow on it.
