ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Protestantism in Belgium

Okay kiddo, so let me try to explain what Protestantism is and how it relates to Belgium. You see, a long time ago, there was only one type of Christianity, called Catholicism. But some people started to have different ideas about how to worship and believe in God. They were called Protestants because they were protesting against some of the things they didn't like in Catholicism.

Fast forward to today, and there are many different types of Christianity, including Protestantism. In Belgium, there is a small population of Protestants. They have their own churches and worship services that are different from the Catholic ones.

Some of the differences between Catholicism and Protestantism include things like how they think about the Bible, how they pray, and the role of priests and other religious leaders. But even though they have different beliefs, both Catholics and Protestants try to live good lives and be good people.

So there you have it, kiddo. Protestantism is a type of Christianity that is different from Catholicism, and there are some people in Belgium who are Protestant and have their own churches and beliefs.
