ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Prototype filter

Okay kiddo, imagine you have a big bucket of water with a lot of dirt and leaves in it. Now, you want to clean the water but you don't want to spend all day picking up the dirt and leaves by hand. So, you need some kind of filter that will help clean the water faster.

Well, just like your bucket of water, sometimes we have electronic signals that we want to clean up too. And that's where a prototype filter comes in.

A prototype filter is a special kind of filter that helps clean up electronic signals. It's like a strainer for electronic signals. Just like you might use a strainer to separate noodles from boiling water, a prototype filter separates different parts of a signal from each other.

For example, let's say you have a bunch of signals coming in from a microphone. Some of these signals might be really useful and some might be static or interference. You don't want the static and interference ruining the good signals! So, you can use a prototype filter to pick out the useful signals and get rid of the rest.

Think of it like having a bunch of Legos that you want to sort into different piles. With a prototype filter, you can quickly and easily sort the Legos into piles of different colors or shapes.

So, that's what a prototype filter does. It helps clean up electronic signals so we can use the good stuff and get rid of the bad stuff.
