Providentialism

Pro-viden-shul-izm is a way of thinking about the world that says everything happens for a reason and that God is in control of it all. This means that if something good or bad happens, it is because God wanted it to happen that way. People who believe in providentialism believe that God is looking out for them and will help them in any situation. They also believe that even in bad times, God is using those experiences to help them grow and learn.
