Theodicy is a big word used by some people to try to explain why bad things happen in the world even though there is a God who is supposed to be all-powerful and good. Basically, some people have faith in a God who loves us and can do anything, but there's still things like war, disease, and other bad things. Theodicy is the idea that somehow God's goodness and power can co-exist with the evil we see in the world. It's a tough question and one that no one can fully answer, but most people agree that God has a plan even though it might be hard to understand.
