Provinces of Korea

Okay kiddo, so you know how we live in a big country called the United States? Well, Korea is also a big country, but it's divided into smaller areas called provinces.

There are nine provinces in South Korea: Gyeonggi, Gangwon, Chungcheong, Jeolla, Gyeongsang, Jeju, Sejong, Ulsan, and Busan. Each province has its own special things that make it unique, like different landscapes, foods, and traditions.

North Korea also has nine provinces, but they're organized a little differently. They have three “special cities” that are like provinces, and then nine traditional provinces. However, North Korea is a very secretive country so we don't know as much about its provinces as we do about South Korea's.

So, provinces are kind of like smaller states within a big country. They each have their own characteristics that make them special, and people who live in each province are very proud of where they come from.
