Pulhamite is a type of artificial rock that was invented a long time ago, way before you were even born. It was named after a man called James Pulham who started to make it in his garden in England. It is made by mixing together a bunch of ingredients like cement, sand and different colored stones. Then the mixture is put into molds to make different shapes, like stones, rocks, and even small waterfalls. Once it hardens, it looks just like real rocks you would find in nature!
People really liked pulhamite because they could make a garden look like it had a natural rocky landscape without having to find and move tons of actual rocks. Plus, you could make it whatever shape, size or color you liked.
Nowadays, pulhamite is not used as much as it used to be because there are newer materials that are easier to use and sometimes even cheaper. But you can still see it in some places, especially in old gardens and parks.
