Okay kiddo, imagine you have a toy car that moves in circles round and round. What will happen if you measure its speed by counting how many times it goes around in a minute? It will give you a regular count, right?
Similarly, there are stars in space that spin at a very high speed and give us a regular count of their spins. We call them pulsars. Now, scientists have made a clock using the regular pulses or beats of these pulsars. Just like your watch tells you the time, this pulsar clock tells scientists the time.
Now, scientists can use this pulsar clock to measure the distance between planets, stars, and galaxies. They can also use it to explore the universe and find out more about its secrets. Pretty cool, right?
