Pyrotechnician

A pyrotechnician is somebody who knows how to make things that go boom, sparkle, and light up in the sky. Just like when you see fireworks on the Fourth of July, a pyrotechnician is the one who makes those big, colorful displays happen.

To make a firework, a pyrotechnician first mixes different chemicals together to create a special powder called "gunpowder." This powder is what makes the fireworks explode and creates the big, beautiful colors in the sky.

Once the gunpowder is ready, the pyrotechnician will put it into a special metal casing called a "shell." Then, they attach a fuse to the shell and light it on fire. When the fuse burns down to the gunpowder inside, it makes a loud noise and shoots the shell up into the sky where it will explode and shower the sky with color and light.

Pyrotechnicians are very careful and follow special safety rules to make sure that nobody gets hurt while they are making or setting off fireworks. So next time you see fireworks, remember that it takes a special kind of person, a pyrotechnician, to make all of that magic happen!
