ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Q (emulator)

Well, imagine you have a toy car, but you don't have a lot of space to play with it. So, you create a tiny cardboard track and you push the car around on it. That's kind of like what a q emulator does.

A q emulator is a computer program that lets you pretend that you have a different kind of computer, even if you don't actually have that kind of computer. It lets you run programs that were made for that other kind of computer on your own computer.

It's kind of like having a pretend computer inside of your real computer. So, if you have a game that was made for an old Nintendo game console, but you don't have the actual console anymore, you can use a q emulator to pretend that you do have it, and then you can play the game on your computer.

It's like having a toy version of something that you don't have the real version of, but you can still play with it and use it just like it's real.
