ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Qadaa

Qadaa is a term used in Islamic law which means making up a missed prayer or fasting day. It's like saying sorry to God for not being able to pray or fast on time and then making it up later.

Let's say you were feeling sick during Ramadan and you couldn't fast for one day. You would then need to make up that missed day after Ramadan is over. That's called qadaa fasting. It's like doing an extra day of fasting to catch up for the one missed.

Similarly, if you missed your morning prayer because you overslept or had to go to school early, you can make up that prayer later on when you have time. That's called qadaa prayer.

Qadaa is important because it helps you keep up with your religious duties while also acknowledging your mistakes and making amends. It's like saying sorry to God and doing something to make it right.
