In Nazi Germany, the government believed that some people's race, or the way they looked, was more important than other people's. They called these people the "Master Race" and said that they were better than everyone else. All other races were seen as inferior and they were treated very badly. Nazis didn't allow people from other races to be part of their society or to move freely in their country. They forced some people out of their homes and jobs, and even put them in concentration camps. Jews were treated the worst, and the Nazis even tried to wipe them out completely – this is known as the Holocaust.
