Racism in early American film

Racism in early American film means that in movies from a long time ago, people of color or from different cultures were not treated with respect or kindness. People in movies were mainly white and people of color were presented as bad characters, like bad guys in old Cowboy movies. They were often made fun of and not respected. This made people of color feel like they were not important or even allowed in the movie. Racism in early American film made it hard for people of color to feel respected or included in movies.
