Rakı

Okay kiddo, have you ever heard of rakı? It's a drink that some grown-ups like to drink in Turkey.

Basically, it's a clear drink that's made by mixing water and a special kind of alcohol called ethanol with aniseed oil. Aniseed oil is a kind of oil that comes from a special plant that tastes like black licorice. That's why rakı kind of tastes like black licorice too!

To drink rakı, grown-ups pour it into a glass and then add ice water to it. When the ice water is added, the drink turns a cloudy white color. This is called "louche." It's pretty cool to watch!

In Turkey, people like to drink rakı with delicious foods like grilled fish or cheese. It's a drink that's meant to be enjoyed with friends and family while having a nice meal together.

But remember, kiddo, that rakı is only for grown-ups and it's only meant to be enjoyed in moderation because too much of it can be dangerous for your body. So, let's stick to our juice boxes for now!
