ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Rating scale

A rating scale is a tool that is used to measure something, like how much someone likes or dislikes something. It is usually a scale with numbers where the lower number means that the person doesn't like it very much and the higher number means they like it a lot. For example, a 5-star rating scale has 1 star being the lowest and 5 stars being the highest, so if someone gives a movie 3 stars it means they like it okay, but not a lot.
