ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Real-time control

Real-time control is like playing a game or doing something where you have to make fast decisions and take immediate action. Imagine you are playing a video game where you have to move your character quickly to win. Real-time control is like the game controlling your character in real-time. The game is constantly giving you feedback on what to do next, and you have to react quickly to keep up.

Real-time control is used in many things like controlling machines, airplanes, and cars. For example, when you press the brake pedal in a car, the braking system must work in real-time to stop the car immediately. If it did not happen in real-time, the car would not stop until you crash into something.

Real-time control requires computers to be very fast so that they can receive information and make decisions quickly. These systems are very important because they can prevent accidents and save lives. That is why we need to make sure that real-time control systems are always working correctly and efficiently.
