ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Realization (probability)

Imagine you have a big box filled with different colored balls. You don't know how many balls of each color are in the box, but you know how many balls are in total. Let's say there are 10 balls in the box.

Now, someone asks you what the chances are of picking out a red ball from the box. To figure this out, you need to know how many red balls are in the box. Let's say there are 2 red balls in the box.

So, the chance of picking out a red ball can be calculated by dividing the number of red balls by the total number of balls in the box. In this case, the chance of picking out a red ball would be 2/10, or 20%.

This calculation is called a realization. It's a way to figure out the probability of something happening based on the information you have. In our example, we realized that the chance of picking out a red ball was 20%.

In a more complex scenario, you might need to make more realizations to figure out the probability of something happening. But the basic idea is the same - you figure out the chances of something happening based on the information you have.
