Recortes

Recortes might seem like a big and confusing word, but it really just means "cutting." Imagine you have a piece of paper and you want to make it smaller. You might use scissors to cut the paper into a smaller size, right? That's a "recorte."

In the world of money and finances, sometimes people use the word "recortes" to talk about when a government or company needs to spend less money. Just like when you cut a piece of paper to make it smaller, sometimes governments or companies need to cut their budgets to make them smaller too. This is called a "recorte."

When a government or company has to make recortes, it can be tricky and sometimes not everyone will be happy about it. Just like you might be sad if someone cut your favorite toy in half, people who rely on government or company services that get cut might be upset too. But sometimes recortes are necessary to make sure everyone has enough money to do the things they need to do.
