ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Recto and verso

Hello there kiddo! Do you know what "recto" and "verso" mean? They sound like big and fancy words, but they're actually pretty simple.

When we talk about recto and verso, we're talking about the two sides of a piece of paper or a book page. The recto side is the front side, and the verso side is the back side. So, when you're reading a book, the page you're looking at is the recto side, and the page behind it is the verso side.

It's kind of like when you're looking at a piece of paper and you write on one side, and then you flip the paper over and write on the other side too. The side you wrote on first is the recto side, and the side you write on second is the verso side.

So, whenever you see the words "recto" and "verso," just remember that they're talking about the front and back sides of something. Pretty cool, right?
