Refectory table

Imagine a really big table that you could sit all of your friends and family at. It's so big that even if you have a lot of guests, there's plenty of room for everyone to eat together. This is called a refectory table.

A refectory table is a long table that is designed for big meals and gatherings. It usually has tall legs that make it sit up really high off the ground, so you have to sit on chairs to be able to reach the top. The table usually has a really big flat surface, so there is lots of room to put plates, cups and food.

Refectory tables are usually made from really strong materials like wood, so they last a long time even though lots of people use them at the same time. They were first used in olden times in big halls called refectories where lots of people would come together to eat. Nowadays, people still use refectory tables for big events like weddings, parties and big family dinners.
