Regional function of the heart

The heart is like a big pump that moves blood throughout your body. Different parts of your heart pump blood to different areas of your body. These parts are called regions. One region pumps blood to your lungs so that they can breathe. Another region pumps blood to your muscles so that they can move. Another region pumps blood to your brain so that you can think and figure things out.

Each region of the heart has a special job to do, just like how different parts of your body have different jobs. But all the regions work together to keep your body healthy and strong!
