ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Regulative principle of worship

The regulative principle of worship means that we should only do in church what God has told us to do in the Bible. It's like when your mom tells you to clean up your room before you can go play outside. You can only do what she said to do before being able to do what you want.

In church, we only do what God has instructed in the Bible for us to do. This means that if the Bible doesn't tell us to do something during worship, we shouldn't do it, even if it might seem like a good idea. It's important to listen to what God tells us to do through the Bible because He knows what's best for us and how we should worship Him.

So, when we go to church, we should focus on doing what God has told us to do in the Bible and not add any other things that we think might be good for worship. Just like how we clean our room by following what our mom says, we worship God by following what He says in the Bible.
