Reliability, availability and serviceability (computer hardware)

Reliability, availability and serviceability (RAS) are important concepts when it comes to computer hardware. Reliability refers to how well a computer works and how long it will continue to work without needing repairs. Availability means how easy it is to get a computer to work - in other words, how quickly it can be turned on and how quickly programs can start running on it. Serviceability means how easy it is to fix a computer if it breaks down or needs repairs. In other words, serviceability is about making sure that repairs to your computer can be done quickly and easily.
