Renewable energy in Morocco means energy that comes from natural sources like sun, wind, water, and other things that are renewable, meaning they won't ever run out. In Morocco, they use renewable energy sources in place of non-renewable energy sources like fossil fuels and coal. This helps to protect the environment because non-renewable energy sources create harmful pollution. Renewable energy sources like solar, wind and hydropower are clean and more affordable, helping more people have access to energy. Morocco has made a commitment to increase their renewable energy sources to 52 percent by 2030 and they are making great progress towards that goal. In 2018 they created a new wind farm called Taza that provides enough energy to power 40,000 households.
