Reparations (transitional justice)

Reparations are a kind of "payment" that is made to people who have been hurt due to something bad that happened in the past. Transitional justice is the process of repairing the damage that has been done, by trying to make sure everyone involved is treated fairly and equally. Transitional justice usually involves providing reparations, which could be in the form of money, medical help, food, or other forms of assistance. It also involves trying to make sure that the people who did the wrong things are held accountable, so that it doesn't happen again.
