ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Repeal

Okay, imagine you have a toy that you don't like anymore. You want to get rid of it, so you decide to take it away. When you take the toy away, you are "repealing" it.

Now imagine this with a law or a rule that people don't like. Sometimes, the government makes laws or rules that people disagree with and want to get rid of. They can do this by repealing or taking away the law or rule.

When a law or rule gets repealed, it means it's gone forever, just like your toy. However, repealing a law or rule isn't always easy. It usually involves a lot of people working together to make it happen, just like how you might need help from a grown-up to get rid of a big toy.
