Representativeness heuristic

Representativeness heuristic is a way of making decisions that relies on your ability to quickly and easily recognize patterns. In other words, it helps you make decisions without having to think too hard. Basically, when you are presented with information or a situation, if it looks like something you’ve seen before and can recognize quickly, you are more likely to make a decision based on that pattern. For example, if you’re presented with a fictional person who is a very outgoing and curious person and loves to travel, you might assume that this person is a creative and adventurous type. This is because that pattern looks like other people you know who are outgoing and curious, so it feels familiar and easy to recognize.
