ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Rescue behaviour

Rescue behavior is when animals help other animals that are in trouble or danger. Just like when you help a friend who is hurt or needs help, animals can also do the same thing to help their animal friends.

For example, if a baby bird falls out of its nest and can't get back up, its mother bird might try to pick it up and help it fly again. Or if a baby deer is stuck in a river and can't swim, its mother deer might come and nudge it until it can get out of the water safely.

Different animals use different methods to rescue others. Some animals will use their mouths to carry their babies to safety, while others might use their claws to pull them up. Some animals will cuddle their babies to make them feel better, and others might use their bodies to shield them from danger.

Rescue behavior is very important for animals because it helps them survive and protect their families. It's also very special to see how much animals care for each other and will do anything to help one another.
