ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Resident magistrate

A resident magistrate is a person who is appointed by the government to be in charge of a specific geographic area, usually a county or district, and makes decisions about legal cases that happen within that area. They act like a judge and help to solve problems and disputes between people who live or work in that area, like a teacher solving problems between students on the playground. They also make sure that the rules, laws, and regulations set by the government are being followed in their area.
