Resin extraction

Resin extraction is like getting honey from a beehive. You know how bees make honey by collecting flower nectar and storing it in the hive? Well, cannabis plants also have a sticky substance called resin that contains special molecules that people sometimes like to use. To get this resin out of the plant, we have to use special tools and techniques.

One way to do it is by using a machine called a "hash press". Imagine taking a bunch of flower petals and squishing them really hard - this would make the juice come out. The hash press works in a similar way - it squishes the cannabis plants and presses the resin out.

Another way to extract resin is by using a solvent like ethanol or butane. This is kind of like washing the plant - the solvent dissolves the resin and then we can separate it from the rest of the plant material.

Once we have the resin, we can use it to make all kinds of products - like oils, edibles, and even just to smoke or vape. But it's important to remember that cannabis resin can be very strong, so it's always best to talk to a grown-up or a doctor before using it.
