ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Resonant inductive coupling

Resonant Inductive Coupling is like a way of sharing energy without having to plug anything in. It's like magic! To do this, you need two things that each have a type of coil inside them like the kind you might have on a playground swing.

The first thing sends energy through the coil, and the other thing receives the energy. This is done without any kind of wires connecting them, so it's like it just comes out of the air. The sending and receiving coils must be tuned to the same frequency, which is the ‘resonant’ part of the name, so it's like they both sing the same song. When they do this, the energy transfers between them.
