ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Response to intervention

Response to Intervention (RTI) is like when your teacher notices that you are having trouble with something at school, like learning to read or understand math. They don't give up on you, they try different things until they figure out what works best for you.

First, your teacher observes how you are doing in class and sees if there are any problems. They might give you some extra help during class or after school. If you still struggle, they might try different ways to teach you, like using games or other fun activities.

If you need even more help, they might ask for help from other teachers, like a reading specialist or a math tutor. They will work with you to find the best way to help you learn.

The key is that your teacher will keep checking on your progress and change the teaching techniques until they find what works best for you. They want to make sure you are successful in school and feel really proud of your progress!
