Retrofit

Okay kiddo, let me tell you about retrofitting.

Do you know what it means to improve something that's already been made? Like adding new decorations to a cake that's already been baked, or making your room look cooler by redecorating it?

Well, retrofitting is kind of like that. It's a way to improve already-built things, like buildings or cars, to make them better and safer.

For example, let's say there's an old building with windows that don't close properly and let in a lot of cold air. Retrofitting that building might mean putting in new, better windows that keep the cold out and save energy.

Retrofitting can also mean adding new technology to things that didn't have it before. A good example of this is retrofitting older cars with backup cameras. These cameras didn't used to be a standard feature, but by retrofitting the car with one, they become safer and easier to drive.

So, retrofitting is all about improving things that already exist, making them safer, better, and more efficient.
